Facebook: App Blocking?
I don’t know about you but my Twitter feed and tab into Facebook stopped working and then disappeard a long time ago. Now it looks like Posterous here is heading in the same direction. My very last post showed it as coming from an “Unnamed App”, for about three minutes and then updated to “via Posterous”.

Of course, Facebook would probably just chalk it up to their server issues from today. We’ll just have to keep an eye on the future of third party feeds, be it blog, status updates or whatever. With their increased startup acquistions, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them weed out anyone or thing they don’t have total control over. But that’s part of their continued success and if they start compromising that I’m sure it’ll impact them negatively, if not right away, certainly down the line.
Facebook Weirdness Continues
For being one of the most heavily viewed websites ever, you’d think that they’d have simple issues like profile links nailed down airtight. But like any technology, especially web-based, bugs are more prevalent than anyone would like.
Today’s Facebook bug is a broken link from the “View My Profile” link, which looks like this: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/jedwright at the profile homepage address: http://www.facebook.com/home.php.The page you requested was not found.
You may have clicked an expired link or mistyped the address. Some web addresses are case sensitive.
Every other link to my profile is working but this one.
Correction/update: now the top right nav “Profile” link isn’t working either: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/jedwright?ref=profile, producing the same error.
Sheesh…and all I wanted to do was update my profile.
