Tribe Uptime & Membership

August 18th, 2008 No comments

I love Tribe but when it’s down more than it’s up, I just can’t continue justifying my monthly membership.

Now I know $5/month ($60/year) isn’t a ton of money, but it’s the principle of thing. So I’m going to see how it performs over the next few months and maybe reconsider my paid vs unpaid use of it after that.

My Brother Ben’s First YouTube Video

August 18th, 2008 No comments

My brother Ben just posted his first YouTube video:

Filmed in a barn at work, it’s got kind of a rustic feel/look to it, which is cool in some ways. And the song itself, “December”, is cool too.

Check it out here if the embedded video doesn’t show above:

Baby Is A Boy!

August 15th, 2008 No comments

Tristan and I went for the baby sex ultrasound today and found out it’s a boy!

I was really hoping for this and had a feeling it was a boy, while Tristan was hoping for a girl. The doctor announced him to be in great health, as he was squirming around a whole bunch (and all the blood tests have come back negative); he also weighed in at half a pound and has a new proposed due date of January 15th.

Here’s a good shot looking up from underneath him:

We’re talking about naming him: Elijah James Wright. Here’s the breakdown of each word’s meaning:

Elijah: Hebrew for “the lord is my king”
James: English for “he who supplants”; and was Tristan’s father’s name
Wright: English and an “occupational name meaning “craftsman, builder,” from the Old English “wryhta” meaning “worker”; and my family name and the first to carry it on in my family.

One Very Tardy Blogger, I am

August 15th, 2008 No comments

I have totally been slacking on writing here or anywhere else but Twitter, in recent months.

Definitely going to work to change that in the coming weeks, especially once Tristan and I make the move back east, assuming we follow through with that. For now, I’m just trying to catch up on nearly 6 weeks worth of mail and other red tape from having traveled away from homebase for so long…

Many a story coming soon!
